Technician / MOT Tester

MOT & Service Technician required to join our clients dealership in Stevenage, Hertfordshire

Salary DOE but in the region of £36k Basic + Bonus 

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am till 5:30pm Saturday on rota (1 in 3) 8am till 12pm

We are currently seeking an experienced Service & MOT Technician to join our clients team in Stevenage. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and MOT testing on a variety of vehicles. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent service to our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including but not limited to brake and suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, and electrical system repairs.
• Perform MOT tests in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
• Complete service and repair documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers regarding vehicle repairs and maintenance recommendations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Service & MOT Technician in an automotive service environment.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• MOT Tester certification (Class 4).
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license.
